Community/Neighbour Mediator

Fully trained and experienced community/neighbour mediator required

At ADR Mediation we’re now looking to recruit a fully trained and experienced community/neighbour mediator.

This is a remote working role however you will be required to attend our head office in Preston City Centre for staff meetings as necessary. You will be responsible for the management of mediation cases end-to-end in the assigned geographical area.

Candidates should be self-motivated, resourceful and organised. A high level of written and spoken English is an essential requirement and you should have excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Your key duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Carrying out initial sessions with clients
  • Managing joint mediation sessions between clients
  • General administration including maintaining and updating the case management system
  • Management of mediation casework end-to-end
  • Attending regular staff meetings
  • Supporting management with partner relationships
  • Any additional duties deemed appropriate by the service lead to contribute to the smooth running of the service

Your qualifications, skills & experience:

  • Recognised, current, mediation qualification
  • Minimum of 12 months community/neighbour mediation experience
  • Able to evidence recent mediation practice (over last 3 months)
  • Knowledge of housing
  • Online and telephone mediation experience
  • Able to work using a case management system
  • Mental health awareness qualification(s) (if not currently held you must work towards and achieve once in the post)
  • Safeguarding awareness qualification(s) (if not currently held you must work towards and achieve once in the post)
  • Driving licence and use of own car

Volunteer Mediators

Volunteer mediators required

We’re looking to recruit volunteer mediators who are based either in North West England or the Midlands.

This is a remote working role that you can work around your day-to-day life. All cases that we ask you to get involved with will be in your local area.

Candidates should be motivated and organised with a desire to help people improve difficult situations in their lives through mediation.

A high level of written and spoken English is essential.
