New Resource for World Mental Health Day

To mark World Mental Health Day on 10 October, we’ve added a new resource to the ADR Membership library. This toolkit is designed to help mediators and organisations recognise the links between conflict and mental health, and to offer practical ways of supporting colleagues and service users.

If you’re a member, you can download it now from your portal.

Not yet part of the membership? This is another example of the resources you’ll gain access to, alongside events, supervision, and training discounts.

Case Study – Rebuilding Neighbour Relations through Mediation

Not all conflict looks dramatic. Sometimes it’s the quiet tension between neighbours that makes daily life stressful.

In our latest case study, ADR mediator Anna Doe worked with two neighbours whose disagreements over noise had created frustration on both sides. Through structured conversation, flexibility, and a key moment of honest dialogue, they were able to move from tension towards trust.

The outcome? A renewed commitment to communication, mutual respect, and rebuilding their relationship.

Spotlight on the Drama Triangle

Workplace conflict doesn’t just affect relationships — it can trap people in destructive roles that damage trust, teamwork and performance. According to HR Zone, one in four UK employees are caught in conflict at work, often cycling through the Drama Triangle of Victim, Rescuer and Persecutor.

In this latest article on HR Zone, they explain how HR professionals can break these patterns by:

  • Building self-awareness so people recognise their roles

  • Educating teams on healthier responses

  • Replacing the Drama Triangle with the Empowerment Dynamic — turning Victims into Creators, Rescuers into Coaches, and Persecutors into Challengers

The result? A workplace culture built on trust, accountability and collaboration rather than blame.

That’s it for this week’s round-up. We would love to hear your thoughts on any of the updates, or ideas for what you’d like to see in future editions. Just hit reply, it’s always great to hear from you.

See you next week,

The ADR Mediation Team
