MEET THE TEAM

With a BA in Social Work & Welfare Studies from the University of Central Lancashire, Kim is a NOCN trained mediator with more than a decade of experience in community, family and workplace mediation. Completing her PTTLS training in 2007, Kim also delivers high quality training in mediation skills and conflict management. Kim is passionate about the benefits of mediation and continues to take an active role as a mediator for ADR. She has been a practicing mediator for 20 years.

Steven has taken a pivotal role in the growth and development of the organisation. He builds and maintains strong relationships with our partners and has a wealth of experience in improving strategy and processes. As an innovator, he strives to continually enhance our services and ensures that ADR is responsive to changes in demand. Steven is also an active mediator for ADR.

Amanda is a fully licenced accountant and bookkeeper (AATQB) and a fellow member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (FMAAT) with 20 years’ experience in a financial capacity. She focuses on the practical questions involved in getting things done and is capable of focusing on the right details to achieve results. She is an important part of the ADR Mediation team.

Amanda

Marie Coombes worked for Royal Mail for 17 years, specialising in conflict resolution and mediation, training, change management, employee and industrial relations and employee engagement. In 2014 she became an accredited mediator through the Open College Network. A highly experienced mediator, she has completed over 200 cases in a variety of complex and often volatile environments and industry sectors. Her strong relationships with frontline staff, union officials and management at all levels has smoothed the way to a successful outcome in an overwhelming majority of her cases.

Janette specialises in business support and administration. She is able to take on a large workload and uses her organisational skills to help us manage and deliver our services. Janette has been a key supporting figure behind our recent expansion.

Diane became involved in mediation through her background in the justice system, having worked within the psychological services department of a category B prison for 10 years. She has experience of working within the areas of resettlement, offending behaviour programmes, case management for those at risk of self harm and suicide, and restorative justice. The latter prompting her to become a mediator to offer alternative interventions for prisoners, their families and the community.

Diane is a qualified HR professional and has extensive experience as a people manager. She is a qualified NLP practitioner and coach, as well as a mental health first aid instructor.

Her experience and knowledge of the psychology of conflict allows her to bring a responsive and inclusive approach to her role as a mediator and trainer.

Adrian has mediated nationally and internationally since 2015, working with clients, barristers, solicitors, advocates, and lawyers to facilitate communication between disputants, to further parties’ understanding of different perspectives, and to guide parties’ towards mutual agreement in civil and commercial disputes.

Adrian takes the time to design the best process to seek resolution for each bespoke situation. His international experience means he is adept at dealing with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and business cultures, this combined with careful preparation allows for swift and effective progress to be made on the mediation day.

Adrian prides himself on his even-handed demeanour, bringing calm to even the most emotionally charged disputes. His ability to help each side understand the other’s point of view breaks down natural barriers to resolution and builds bridges towards compromise.

Our mediators are all fully trained and come from a wide range of backgrounds. They give their time to help those in dispute find a resolution and a positive way forward.
